Seize it .

Take a breath & seize it, seize the surroundings, the air, the smells, the beauty of it all, of being right here.
Sometimes I forget, sometimes I'm ashamed because I forget how fucking lucky I am. Somedays I want to smack myself in the head and say "Hey ! Stop moping about shit and open your eyes, you don't get another experience like this !"

I do love it here, so, so much. I love waking up in the morning and go and have a served breakfast and after go and have a surf check from the bridge and then get in a wetsuit and go for a surf, whatever the conditions are, because even if it's kind of shit waves, it's always great to get out there, even just for a paddle, I love how the ocean makes you feel. When you get out in the water everything else just goes away, it's you, the waves & your board, there is nothing better.

It's Opossum .

So in one month my second Spot X era is coming to an end and that will probably be the last goodbye to this place, don't think I'm going to return anytime soon, pretty sad, but the good times has been many.
So my second time here hasn't been anything like the first time, and ofcourse I didn't expect that, I expected it to be different, but not like this.
As a friend said the other day "You allready had your crew here once" and even if there's some really cool people here now, I can't help but to compare to the crew we had back in the days and how much more it felt as a family back then. I love the guys here I do and I still love this place, but it's time to move on. My Spot X time is out, I realized that now.

So next month it's my birthday the 24th then there's a festival at the camp from the 25th to the 27th and I'm leaving the 27th to go to Yamba once again ! Staying there for like 2 and a half week, then down to Sydney, see Lee again and probably the last time befor I'm flying out. After Sydney I'm going down to Melbourne to spend christmas and new years there with Cissi and some friends. Then around the 23 of jan we're flying to Bali to meet up with Charlotta, I'm so excited !! Can't belive the time has gone by so fast, only 3 months left in Australia and in like 4-5 months I'll be back home ! Crazy ! But am excited too to meet everyone back home again !

The hole that you left will never ever be filled, but, with all the love I ever got from you, and all the love I'm being given today, the hole seems easier and easier to baer with.

Dude, let's go surfiin .

As my friend "Nadua/Mr.Lady/Timon" would say if someone asks "Are you a good surfer" : "I love surfing" couldn't say if I'm good or bad, just that, I really love surfing, there isn't any better feeling in the world, not that I know of so far anyway.

I want to say "thank you" to all the people I've met along this amazing journey.
Thank you all for letting me into your lives and for sharing your stories with me.
And thank you for coming into my life, listening to my story.

life .

Four weeks at camp, I've said it but I'm saying it again, time goes so fast.
Last weekend I went down to another one of Mojo surfcamps that's named Crescent Head. It's a bit smaller then Spot X but really cool. Went down friday to sunday and pretty much worked all weekend. It was fun, but a bit too much work (actually did 13 and a half hour sathurday). Going down again this weekend but now I get some help so I'll be able to go out surf and have some fun as well !

So what's new to tell about life, Spot X, anything.. I don't know actually - and can't share everything in the blog - but as always life's sweet and I am for sure having the time of my life, still, after over 7 months, not to shabby...

I'll talk too u soon, and I haven't taken pictures to show u how camp look, but here's some pictures of all the lovely people from here.

Dress up night, Marco, Michelle, Alex.

Pub night, Soda in the back, (Mr Ladies)Nadia & Bronwyn, Adam.

Live the life you love .

One and a half week at the camp and allready is the time just flying. You can't understand how great this place is until you experienced it. The best way to describe it is 'It's just such a easy life'.
This is like a tipical day; I wake up around 8ish and have a great breakfast (served) with the most beautiful view (haft to post a photo of this, actually I'm gonna do a blog post with pictures from around camp, that will be my next mission).
Then around 9 I go out for a surf, maybe see some dolphins or some wales. Get up around 10.30 get to work at 11 spend a couple of hours working, have lunch, then another surf in the afternoon, maybe go for a run and maybe a couple hours more work.
Then at nights we'll have a great dinner, then we chill around the camp fire, have some drinks, play some games, play some pool, on a more quiet night we'll watch a movie, but most night we just hang out and have a blast.
And the next day, it's the same thing. Maybe it sounds booring, do the same thing all the time, but I tell you, it's not. We find ways to make it different (dress up in wierd stuff and go for a surf, like the other day) but we don't really have to do that even, not that often anyway, it's just so cool, we just have the best time. So easy just to stay here, which is what I'm going to do now for a while.

I really want to try and keep you updated at home on stuff that I'm doing, it's just hard here with the same stuff going on all the time.
Can tell you something from today though, I had a really great surf this morning, I think it was the best sience I got back to the camp. Managed to do a really great turn (which is like the hardest to learn I reckon) and it was so much fun. This afternoon was shit though, a couple of the groms went to another beach and the waves were huge, couldn't even manage to get past the breaking point. But, got to practice my duck dives(diving under the breaking waves with your board, to avoide getting smashed by the wave).

People are leaving this week and I guess this is gonna be a common thing for me now, with me staying longer than most people comming through to work here, but I don't mind really, you just meet soo much cool people.

So that'll be it for now, I'll get back with them photos from around the camp, want to show you all my Australian "home".

Spot X - The return

Soo, I am back ! And it is soo friggin great. At first it was a little odd with almost none of my old friends still working here, but now it's just awesome. The new crew working here is really cool and I think we'll have heaps of fun.
The surfing is rosty but it is so great to be back in the wather, missed it soo soo much!
So I think there's a good chance I'll be here for quite some time, I love it so much, and even if Australia is so so big, and there is so much else to see, there isn't much else I want to really, really do, besides this.. so why shouldn't I? This is "My" year to do what I want, and I want to be here. So that's that for now.

Talk Soon

When life's hard .

So at the moment I'm in Sydney. This morning Sally left me to go back home. It's been some amazing weeks with this crazy, cool ladie and i've had some pretty great times with her.
The things you do and see when you travel meens so much more if you share it with someone, and I'm really so glad that Sally done all these with me, it wouldn't have been the same with out her.

Yeasterday we met up with Lee for a lunch date. We didn't know what he had planned for us but as a great surprise he took us out on a boat that did 40 knots ! Wow, racing around in Sydney Harbour, life can be worse ! Thank you Lee !

The day befor, friday, we went out, me, sally and Milou and danced for like 5 hours straight until 4 in the morning. It was so much fun and I can feel my dance muscles aching still.

So now I have until friday here in Sydney just crusing around until I go back to the camp.

Two pretty happy chicks, a beautiful winter day in Sydney.

What a way to se the harbour ey ?

Snuggeling with a wallaby on the way down from Cairns at a little zoo.

Beautiful Cape trib, when the tide was low you could actually walk out on the reef.

Just chillin on cape trib beach.

The first crazy night the three of us got togeather, it only went down hill from that... Haha love these girls ! <3

7.27.2011

Where I'm going .

So now we're in Cairns. The weather is changing on us now, but that's fine. We've had amazing weather for over a week, maybe like two week. And it has just been amazing.

We got to Cairns the day befor yesterday and have mostly just chilled out here and sorted stuff out and tomorrow we leave for Sydney ! It was pretty funny how we decided to go there just in a couple of minutes, spontanity is the only way. I'm excited for Sydney acutally, not for the cold though, it's going to be a chock, after being in the tropicals for a while now. But anyway, we're going to meet up with a friend to Sally and another girl we met in Cape trib is going to be there too and I hope to meet up with Lee as well !

So now you know where I am, kinda. Now let me tell you about where I'm going. I acutally have a plan, that I feel good about, actually great about ! I think it's a first sience I got here that I have a real plan.
So this is how it goes; on the 4th of august I'm going back to Surf camp (YAY) to work as a photografer again for 3 months and then in november I'm going to leave to go down to melbourne. There I'm going to visit some friends, also that I met in Cape Trib, a really cool aussie couple and I'm going to stay with them for a couple of days and just explore Melbourne. Then I'm going to do the great ocean road and after that I am going to go and stay with Sally up kinda in the Snowy mountains. She runs a horse farm where she train horses and have a horse riding school. So I'm going to stay there for 2 months and work with here and then I get my second year working visa ! Which is great because that means I can come back with out having loads of money !
And so after Australia I now plan to go just to Indonisia for maybe 2-3 weeks, because my money wont let me go travel around south east asia as I planned from the start, but that's fine. I'm happy just to go to Indo, maybe do some surfing there and relax and explore some there.
I hope Cissi maybe wants to come with me there, otherwise I might see if I can find someone else to go with..

Well that is that ! So maybe this plans sticks, maybe not. Everything I planned so far has changed, it's begining to become sort of a rule ! But I feel pretty good about this one and it would meen that I would be home in February, which feels great.

So over and out, now because it's pretty crappy weather we're going to go look in a second hand shop and then maybe go watch a movie !

Take care everyone, talk too you soon, miss u, love u all !

(And pictures will be posted when I get to surf camp)

Where I am .

Wow, I must be theee crappiest blogger. Buut I have just had no motivation to sit by a computer and write long post, how could I when there is so much beauty in this country, u just want to keep exploring.

Well, I think I have to do this a little bit in a time. And I think I'll start with where I am. At the moment I'm in beautiful, amazing Port Douglas, that's between Cairns and Cape Tribulation. Me and Sally (A fun and energetic ladie from south Australia whom I met in Arlie Beach at a backpackers, and we pretty much been hanging out sence that, we just really get along !)were on our way down from cape tribulation after spending four AMAZING days there(more about that soon) and we did a little stop with our tour bus in Port Douglas and had a few minutes to walk around, when it was time to get on the bus and head back to Cairns we said to our bus driver "Can you just leave us here we don't wanna go back to Cairns??" and she said "Sure! But you have to find your way back". So that was it, and now we're in this beautiful little town for a night, wish I could stay a couple of nights though, but you take what you get.
So, a little more about Cape Tribulation. That was definetly the highlight of the east coast. I can't describe the beauty and the energy up there, it's just, mind blowing. We did a few adventures there, we went horse back riding(on the beach and in the worlds oldest rainforest!) wich was amazing, but would have been even better if the horses would have been in better condition, it was pretty sad to see. They were so badly fed and so sad, it was heart breaking!
We also went on the jungle swing ! It was soo cool ! It was a bit scary for me because I'm afraid of hights, but I think I just might be getting over that fear ! It was really, really cool and sa beautiful from up there!
Besides that we saw crocks, went hiking, sunbaking, watch the sunrise, did some yoga, played a lot of pool, met some really cool people and loads more !

So, this will be it for now. Going to Cairns later today and will do another update hopefully with some pictures too from there !

See you

From Brisbane .

So we've been in Brisbane sience Thursday and it's been really nice.

Funny thing, when we left Surfers from the hostel Sleeping Inn we got droped off at the bus stop in a Limosine... haha.

So in Brissie we've been quit good tourists, took the ferry along the river, both day and night time, really beautiful. Walked around in the city, did some smaller shopping. Walked into a really beautiful church named St John's Cathedral, which they started to build 1906 and just finished 2009, pretty cool. I lighted a candle and said a pray, felt reallt nice.
On Friday we went to South Brisbane to go see Hangover 2 and walked around, really nice, saw a man who did a fireshow by the river. Another day we went back there and had lunch by the river and then went to the gallery of modern art, my favorite part was a room filled with artwork from just students, high school and collage, they were really good. Really like the south part of Brisbane.

So that's pretty much what we've been doing here, and some partying. Tomorrow at 11 we're going to Mooloolaba and after that it's noosa. So looking forward to do some surfing, was soo long ago and I miss it soo soo much.

Thinking alot of all the people at home and that you have summer there now. Hope it's really warm and good weather. I miss You all soo soo much !!

Doing it real backpacker style..

...so now we've started to travel Australia as real backpackers, out of the Spot X bubble, hostel to hostel, out of our backpacks. So far we've made it to Yamba, Byron Bay & Surfers Paradise and tomorrow we're going to Brisbane. Gonna tell you a little more about that soon.

So it's really wierd being out of the Surf camp and from that easy life we had there, becouse really, it was ooh so sweet. I really miss my "Spot X family" and I can't wait to see them all again. Right this minute I'm listening to Birds Of Tokyo - Plans and it's bringing back so many good memories from the camp with all the beautiful people from there. (Btw, JACCO really would love your Spot X playlist!)

So after we left the camp we went to this little place called Yamba, wich was aamazing! It's a really small town with not that much to do but it has the best surf and really good beaches and beautiful landscape. They only have one backpackers, YHA, but it's a really good one and the people staying and working there was really nice. The first night we came there we got told that we were going to join everyone at the hostel in a "tribe theme night", tierd from the day befor and the travel we were not very excited, but we got dolled up and joined anyway and had a really fun night! The day after a guy named Shane took us out surfing and I learnd soo much from him, had my best surfs ever with him there and I could have easily stayed there for soo much longer. I will tell everyone I meet from now on that they really should go there. Thank you Izi for telling us about this place and that we should go there !

So after Yamba we were off to crazy Byron. Byron Bay is famouse for being this really cool surfer town with sick partys. And so it was for us! We went to Cheeky monkeys, which is this really cool place for backpackers becouse it's super cheap, they got like 7$ stakes and 2$ cheese burgers and stuff, and the more noice you make the more free drinks you get. So we had two crazy fun nights in Byron and besides that we went to Nimbin and we went snorkeling. Such a great time, I really like Byron. Becouse we've been there a couple of times it feels like you know the city a little bit and that's kinda nice when your travelling and every place you go is new.

After Byron Bay we're now in Surfers Paradise. It seems cool and this place is all about the nightlife and the sick partys, but I've been sick so I haven't been out. Have been walking around and done some smaller shopping and it seems like a allright town but not one of my favorites so far, a bit to comersial.

Tomorrow we're going to Brisbane and that's gonna be fun, but a thing that's not too good about it is that there is no surf there.

One other thing, we've got another job! At a farm, picking mandarins. Doesn't sound that good maybe but the thing is that we all want to get a second year visa for OZ and to get that you haft to make 3 months at a farm, doing fruit picking or whatever, so this is perfect for that. The place is in the middle of nowhere and beside the farm there is really nothing else to do, so that's a bit shit. So don't know how long we're gonna last there for. The farm is located a bit north of Brisbane, so we might be going there pretty soon, but not sure when, will let you know!

Just had a Skype Chat with my little brother and it's soo nice to here the voice of the people from back home, miss them soo much !

So, now I've been pretty good and done some updating of my trip, but there's heaps more to come so keep visiting, gonna do my best to update you all !

Truckloads of love from Fill down under ! (And I'm sorry about shitty spelling !)

People we meet.

It is becoming a end of an Era here at Spot X. People is leaving, people you've become really close to, in this relatively short period of time. Really love the friends I've made here, and it's so very sad to see them go. I really hope I will see them again and I'm gonna try my very best to go and see them in the future.

Today our dear friend Jacco left the camp. I'm gonna tell you a little bit about Jacco; He's a annoying dutchie who loves to pick on you and hit you and being rude. Buuut, he can also be super sweet and make you laugh, so what I really wanted to say is, gonna miss him much and it's gonna be empty at the camp with out him.

We're having a couple of sad weeks in front of us, because so many are leaving and in tree weeks me, Cissi and Jessie is leaving. Feels so surreal that we already been here for so long and are soon about to leave. All good things come to an end, that's true but at the same time all things happens for a reason. This been the time of my life for sure and I'm so thankful for this time because life will never be as easy as it's been here that's something that's for sure.

In this picture is Nat, Me & Louie. These girls are preeetty awesome. Nat always makes you laugh, don't think I'll ever gonna meet a funnier and more crazy girl than this chick.
Louie, she's something else alright. I've only got to know here over the last couple of weeks but she feels like someone who has known me like forever and we have so much fun!

In this picture is Leanne, me, Diede Sander & Lotte Sander. Leanne is a bubbly, happy and funny girl from England, she always gets the party started with here bubbliness and lovely laugh! The Sander sisters, they truly are a couple of amazing girls. Diede I've become very close to, we're kinda the same in some ways, think kinda the same and I'm gonna miss this girl soo much, we just haft to keep in touch and see each other again. Lotte, she's too such a amazing person and we've had much fun together and she's just one of those persons that makes this place so great.

In this picture is Leanne, me and Jessie. I'm soo happy that I don't haft to say goodbye to this girl Jess just yet and it's soo great that she's gonna be traveling with me and Cissi when we leave Spot X. This crazy Canadian girl makes you laugh, just by laughing, you can't describe it. Love this girl and we're gonna have a sick time traveling together.

And here is a oh so beautiful picture of me and Jacco (maybe not the best one).
